Sync Preferences

Use Sync Preferences to choose the warehouses, product fields, stock metric, product statuses, and sync mode used by LZ SKU Sync.

Open LZ SKU Sync → Settings → Sync Preferences. If preferences are already saved, select Change Sync Preferences to edit them.

Step 1: Map warehouses to Shopify locations

  1. Under Warehouse Mapping, select a Zoho warehouse.
  2. Select the Shopify location that should receive that warehouse's stock.
  3. Use Add Row for each additional mapping.
  4. Complete both selections in every row, or remove the incomplete row.

At least one complete mapping is required. Use the actual warehouse and location names for your business. If multiple Zoho warehouses map to the same Shopify location, their selected stock quantities are combined.

Step 2: Select the stock metric

Under Select Stock Type to Sync, choose one of the displayed Zoho metrics:

  • Available for sale stock — the initial selection.
  • Available stock.
  • Committed stock.

Choose the metric that matches your inventory process and compare that same metric when checking results. Selecting a metric does not enable stock sync by itself: also enable Stock Quantity for the relevant product type in Step 4.

Compare Shopify on-hand stock

The selected Zoho quantity is written to Shopify's on-hand quantity at the mapped location. Shopify's available quantity can differ when stock is committed or unavailable. See the worked verification example.

Step 3: Review exclusions and sales channels

Exclude categories

Under Exclude Categories from Sync, select any Zoho categories whose products should be omitted from manual and automatic sync. Leave the selection empty if you do not need category exclusions.

Select sales channels

Under Publish to Sales Channels, select the Shopify channels you intend synced products to be published to. Review these choices together with product status mappings in Step 5.

For a demonstration, use a test store, select Draft in the relevant status mappings, and leave sales channels unselected.

Step 4: Choose fields by product type

Simple products, item groups, and individual variants have separate preferences. Enable the optional fields that you want to transfer from Zoho.

Preference group Required fields Optional settings
Simple Product Sync Preferences Product Title / Name; SKU Stock quantity, sales price, cost price, description, weight, primary image, gallery images, and category-based smart collection creation.
Variable Product Sync Preferences Product Title / Item Group Name Category-based smart collection creation.
Variant Sync Preferences Variant SKU Stock quantity, sales price, cost price, description, weight, and primary image.

Stock and price selections for simple products do not enable those fields for variants. Review both groups if your catalog contains both product types.

To sync images, confirm that the source Zoho item contains the images and enable the relevant primary or gallery preference. For item groups, review the variant image preference.

Step 5: Review creation and status settings

Review the controls labeled Create Shopify Simple Products for Missing SKUs and Create Variants for Missing Variable Products in Shopify. Selecting them displays the corresponding creation status settings.

Configure the Shopify statuses for active and inactive Zoho items in the relevant sections:

  • Status Mapping for New Simple Products.
  • Status Mapping for Existing Simple Products.
  • Status Mapping for New Variable Products.
  • Status Mapping for Existing Variable Products.

The status choices are Active, Draft, Archived, and Unlisted. Review existing-product mappings as well as new-product mappings: a sync can change the status of a product already in Shopify.

Check the outcome on a demo catalog

A sync can create products whose SKUs are missing from Shopify. Verify the creation and update behavior on your demonstration catalog before applying the settings to a live store. Use Draft status for a first demonstration and check the resulting products before publishing them to a sales channel.

Step 6: Choose the sync mode and save

  1. Under Sync Frequency, select Manual Sync for your first controlled run.
  2. Select Save Sync Preferences.
  3. Check the confirmation message. Resolve any incomplete mappings or other validation errors before continuing.
  4. Select Proceed to open Sync Status.

After verifying your first run, you can select Always Sync to enable automatic updates. Saving this mode must successfully set up or activate the Zoho workflows and webhooks. See enable automatic updates.
