Verify Results¶
Compare the same SKU in Zoho Inventory and Shopify to confirm that the intended product fields and stock reached the right destination. Use actual item values from your accounts for each comparison.
Step 1: Record the Zoho source values¶
- Open a demonstration item in Zoho Inventory.
- Note its item name, SKU, sales price, and any other fields you enabled for sync.
- Open its warehouse or location stock details.
- Note the quantity for the warehouse and stock metric selected in Sync Preferences.
For an item group, repeat this for the variants you want to verify. Compare each variant's SKU and option values.
Step 2: Find the matching Shopify product¶
- In Shopify admin, open Products.
- Find the corresponding product by name or SKU.
- Open the product, or its matching variant for an item group.
- Confirm that the SKU matches the source item.
- Compare the product title and the optional fields enabled for that product type, such as sales price, description, weight, and images.
- Check the product status and sales channel selections.
If you used Draft for the demonstration, the product should remain a draft until you intentionally change its status. Finding the product in Shopify admin does not by itself establish that it is published on a storefront.
Step 3: Check the mapped location¶
- Open inventory information for the matching Shopify product or variant.
- Select or locate the Shopify location used in Warehouse Mapping.
- Compare the on-hand quantity with the selected Zoho stock metric for the mapped warehouse.
- If several Zoho warehouses map to that same location, compare their combined quantity.
Shopify's available quantity may differ from on-hand when quantities are committed or unavailable. Compare the correct location and metric before concluding that the sync is incorrect.
Example stock comparison¶
These are illustrative values, not inventory created by the app:
| Source or destination | Example value |
|---|---|
| Item SKU in both systems | DEMO-MUG-BLUE |
| Zoho warehouse | Demo Warehouse |
| Selected metric | Available for sale stock |
| Zoho quantity for that metric | 25 |
| Mapped Shopify location | Demo Store Location |
| Expected Shopify on-hand after a successful stock update | 25 |
If a second Zoho warehouse contributes 5 units of the selected metric to the same Shopify location, the combined expected on-hand quantity is 30. For a clean comparison, use whole-unit demo inventory and avoid unrelated inventory changes during the check.
Step 4: Inspect the sync audit¶
- Open LZ SKU Sync → Settings → Sync Log.
- Find the product and recent sync time. Filter by status, product type, or source if needed.
- Select View in the Audit column.
- Check the detailed events, including inventory and image operations.
A completed session can include failed products, and an individual product's audit can contain field-operation errors. Use both the audit and the actual Shopify result to verify success.
Verify an automatic update¶
After enabling Always Sync, change an enabled field on a demonstration item in Zoho. Wait for processing, compare that field in Shopify, and check the corresponding WEBHOOK entry in Sync Log. If it does not arrive, follow automatic sync troubleshooting.
When a value does not match¶
Check the source SKU, saved preferences, excluded categories, warehouse mapping, and audit events. If you corrected source data in Zoho, run a new manual sync to fetch the updated values. See Troubleshooting for the checks for each symptom.
